Margaret's Closet

I am obsessed with vintage stuff. I am a not a material person nor am I a hoarder but allow me to clean out your attic and I am in heaven. I've always been good at organizing and finding treasure in what others might see as trash. A few weeks ago I took on the task of helping a woman who was left as executor of a fellow church member's estate. She was feeling somewhat overwhelmed with a house full of the woman's possessions and when I heard about her dilemma I jumped at the chance to lend a hand. So I dove in and starting bringing home boxes of clothing, shoes and accessories with the intent of selling them in my eBay store. I started my eBay store after years of selling online and even self-publishing a book about how you can turn your trash into treasure. After my dad passed away leaving literally hundreds of books that most of my family had no interest in I couldn't bear to see his precious library go to waste so I opened an eBay store in his name and starting selling. Margaret was a single woman who had fantastic taste. It's been so much fun discovering all the vintage treasures that she held onto all these years. As much as I admire a cute patent leather handbag I am never tempted to keep one but instead I love the thrill of finding someone who loves it too. For me that has always been the fun of selling vintage. Getting feedback from excited buyers when they receive their new treasure and almost always hear that it's nicer than they expected. Pictures never seem to do vintage items justice. As I go through Margaret's closet I begin to form a picture of a woman that I only remember from when I was a child and seeing her in church. When I was very young women always wore hats to church and they always looked so fancy to me. Margaret was always well dressed and could afford expensive, well-made clothing. These are some of the items from Margaret's closet. I never knew Margaret really but as I go through her belongings I am learning about who she was.
